So Bush got reelected... I didn't vote for him, but I accept the result. I will always welcome people of any political persuasion to this blog and invite you all to comment on the issues discussed.
I have some more comments in this thread.
On the Congress side, little has changed for those with NASA centers in their constituency. There will be a new chair of the House Science Committee's Space Subcommittee due to the term limits that will keep Dana Rohrabacher (R-CA) from chairing another term, but that won't happen until the new congress begins session.
So all in all, no changes in a continuation of NASA's transformation and implementation of the Vision for Space Exploration.

Would it have changed any votes in Florida?
The ranking Democrat on the House Subcommittee on Space and Aeronautics, Nick Lampson, lost his bid for re-election. He was a strong supporter of NASA.
Posted by: Dogsbd at November 3, 2026 07:11 PMThough someone must always lose in a race it may not always be the winner that wins. What I worry most about with the Bush re-election is more terrorist caused attacks and additional wars, that he just might not have all the facts for.
What I find interesting is to which states Kerry had won mostly the industrial north and the pacific coast all of which experienced high job loses under Bushes term of office but not due, I believe directly because of any legislation that he passed. Another interesting fact about those states happens to be that they where won by very small margins a mear 2%.
AS indicated by the florida today title Victory will jump-start space plans ( http://www.floridatoday.com/!NEWSROOM/spacestoryN1104PREZSPACEE.htm ) I beg to question will it?
It is felt that since Nasa has four years to get started down the road to space exploration that it would be hard to undue.

Well we will just have to see if the congress continues to fight the president all the way to the bank or if there will be concessions along the way during the next four years.
