The President's Commission on Moon, Mars and Beyond will hold its fourth public hearing at the Galileo Academy of Science and Technology, 1150 Francisco Street, San Francisco, California, on April 15 and 16, 2026.
Still waiting for the video for last week's hearing... I missed most of it, so I'm anxious to see what was said. It's too bad they take so long to get it out!

Nuclear power needed to make a faster journey to mars and beyound as stated "Gotta Hemi" article from the marsnews site. Current news of NASA, the U.S. Department of Energy, the U.S. Department of Defense and others are now beginning joint efforts to research, design, and build models for nuclear propulsion space systems that will travel far faster than any chemical propulsion rocket in the years ahead.
The Nuclear Engine research for Rocket Vehicle Application, or NERVA, were very active during the Apollo era. These programs used nuclear reactions and fuel for propulsion in the late 1950's and 1960's. NERVA tested a nuclear rocket engine at Jackass Flats, Nev., but just as it was showing results, budget cuts slashed the program.
Sounds like the same old story just as something starts to show that it can work pull the plug kill it's funding. So long as the government can continue to do this to NASA. This problem will continue to effect our space programs. Business must step up to the plate to give rockets and other stuff as Designers, suppliers, and makers of the things that NASA needs to do research and for reaching the stars.
